Nurses 💜 wine!
Last Friday a bunch of the girls from work and I went on a wine tour. We truly lucky to live in such a wonderful place with lots of lakes and wineries so close! The weather was beautiful and it was great to have a day to relax with these lovely ladies!

May oils
Last week I got new oils in the mail. This month I ordered: Lemon, Cedarwood, Lemongrass, Cypress and Orange. I just love lemon! I often diffuse it alone or put a drop or two in a glass of ice water.
Cedarwood is one that I learned about in one of Kari's online classes. It's great for sleep since it helps to produce melatonin. Last night I diffused it with lavendar in my room and slept like a baby.

Cypress I ordered because I saw on pinterest that it can help with bedwetting (Evan has had issues with this forever... but that is another story). So I plan to mix it with a little coconut oil and rub it on his belly before bed to see if it helps. At this point, I'm willing to try anything!

I also found a recipe for a flea and tick spray for the dog that uses lemongrass and cedarwood so I purchased those to try that.

Orange smells wonderful and is good for cleaning (along with lemon) and I have also heard that it can be added to toothpaste as a natural teeth whitener!

Engagement Pictures!
About a month ago, Mike and I had our engagement pictures. We really aren't picture people and probably would not have had them done if they weren't part of our wedding package. It also gave a chance to meet our photographers and for them to get to know us a little bit before the day of the wedding.
Denko Imaging did our engagement session. They are a husband and wife team and very laid back (which we loved). They did everything possible to try and make us feel comfortable during the shoot. They did a 4 hour session and were able to go to multiple different places for pictures. I know that 4 hours seems like a really long time to take pictures (we thought so too).. but afterwards we appreciated it. Not only did the longer time allow us to take pictures at multiple sites but it gave us time to get comfortable in front of the camera, which we could see when looking at the proofs. When we got to choose which pictures we wanted for editing we ended up going with many of the ones from later in the day simply because we looked more comfortable.
Here are a few of my favorites!
Mike and I would highly recommend Denko Imaging to anyone! Great people, great price, and two photographers for the price of one!

Ahhh... is this class over YET?!?
I consider myself to be pretty laid back. I tend to "go-with-the-flow".. however, this class is driving me CRAZY! I get my work schedule 4-6 weeks ahead of time, so the fact that the entire syllabus has been wrong (including test dates and due dates) has been really frustrating.. to say the least! I have pretty much just let it go and not said anything all semester until she decided to change the final exam date. It was originally scheduled for next wednesday 6-8pm and now is next thursday 1-3pm. To most people this would probably not be that big of a deal, but since I work next Thursday night it is. I had scheduled my work around my exams which means I have next tuesday and wednesday off. Thursday I will need to sleep while Evan is at school (approximately 8-230pm). Once he gets home, I get ready for work, help with homework, and make dinner. I then have to leave for work by 6 in order to make it to work by 7. If I were to take an online exam 1-3pm, I would not only have to wake up early but Evan would come home right in the middle of the test. I feel like she should have to stick to the syllabus and the original time... or if the time needed to be changed it should have been done more than a week ahead of time. Am I over reacting?! Should I just suck it up and take it at the new time?? Good news is the class is almost over... and since this instructor only teaches an elective, I will never have to deal with her again!

April Stitch fix
After 2 years I got another fix! And I must say that the stylist did pretty good. I decided to keep 2 of the 5 items sent. So let's take a look into my stitchfix box!
The first item I kept is the Market & Spruce Chaplin Hooded Anorak Cargo Jacket. I fell in love with it as soon as I put it on and I was in need of a new spring jacket so it was perfect!
I have to mention that I just LOVE that they send style cards for each item!! That way you at least have an idea of what it could be paired with, especially if it's something you wouldn't typically wear. The second item I kept is a pair of Mavi Ruxin boyfriend jeans. I do not typically wear this style jeans, but I had put in my additional information for the stylist that I am a nurse and when I'm not working I'm usually running Evan around to his various activities or lounging at home. These jeans are perfect! So comfortable!!
I would like to add that sometimes the items sent may be a little pricey.. the jacket for $80, which for a jacket is not bad. These jeans were $90! I do not look at the price tag until after trying items on. I feel that had I known how much these jeans were I would not have even put them on. Honestly, I almost didn't keep them even after seeing how much they were but Mike saw how much I loved them and told me to keep them.
The next three items I did not keep. The first being the RD style ferra maxi dress. I love summer dresses, however I tend to drown in a traditional maxi because I have no curves. That was certainly the case with this dress. Super comfortable, just not for me.
The next item was the Papermoon Mixed Material Knit Top. Again, super comfortable but not for me. The shirt was navy in the front and then had a polka dot design on the back. I felt like I was wearing it backwards and Mike agreed.
The third item I chose to send back is the Street Level Parker Tote. I really like the tote but did not care for the color. The style card just shows a sketch of the tote but it was a light brown/tan color. I really don't have anything that would match it. I also didn't like the fact that their were no pockets in it. I did let my stylist know in the review that I would like the tote in dark brown, cream, or black so maybe I'll be seeing it again!
Overall, I was very pleased with this fix since it was the first one I had gotten in a couple years. The goal is that as you continue to get fixes and review each piece as to why you did or did not keep each item, your stylist will get to know your style better and be able to send you more items that you will keep!
